Pointwest Technologies has an opportunity for a Senior Java Developer in the Airport Customer Services (ACS) Portfolio. The ACS Portfolio supports Above Wing and Below Wing airport operations and RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology for baggage and airport operations which is a pivotal function in clients’ passenger and customer satisfaction and aircraft flying safely. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and 5+ Years in Engineering or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training Previous airline experience ideal Development of server-side applications in the Java development language Development of web services in Java Experience in consuming web services Experience programming SQL and Stored Procedures for Oracle databases Experience in producing and consuming messages using MQ Experience in Object-oriented design documenting that design in diagrams and documents Experience in supporting a mission-critical application in a 24x7x365 environment Highly motivated, inquisitive, collaborative, creative, proactive, and good communicator are non-technical skills that will fit best in our environment Must have the ability to transform business and functional requirements into technical solutions. Experience in front end web technologies and frameworks: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular JS, AJAX, Struts, Spring and Hibernate. Experience in designing, developing and deploying applications in Xamerin on multiple mobile platforms. Experience with application and web servers such as IBM WebSphere - Good understanding and experience using web services using JAX-RPC and JAXWS. Expert understanding of SDLC from design through production implementation (Agile and Waterfall) You will be comfortable interfacing and engaging with customers, defining their requirements and effectively translating their needs to business and technical documents, maximizing customer satisfaction - Excellent analytical, technology, communication, decision making and problem solving skills - Experience leading/mentoring junior developers - Organized with an ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and utilize time effectively - Must have the ability to transform business and functional requirements into technical solutions Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include architecting, designing, developing and implementing Java/J2EE applications and RFID technology. Design, and outline solution architectures providing conceptual, logical and application level design. Provide technical expertise in support of application development and govern the implementations of the applications. Strong understanding of the technical ACS Portfolio ecosystem leveraged by the solution and complementary applications. Design and develop solutions with multiple technologies, complex environments and determine which is appropriate for the situation Capable of implementing industry best-practice processes related to application development concepts, designs, and architectures. Apply company policies and procedures to resolve complex issues Prepare and review estimates for tasks and/or projects. Participating in the design process of new features and enhancements to the software platform. Participate in the development effort resulting in well structured, easily maintained program code. Meet all established policies and procedures within technology and corporate environment for the assigned projects. Prepare and review estimates for tasks and/or projects. Prepare and execute unit, system and integration test scripts. Ability to perform across all phases of system development for multiple complex projects; including coding, technical design, and end-to-end testing. Ability to clearly document own work products and review and contribute to the documentation across multiple projects. Draft designs that meet the corporate standards but are flexible to handle growth. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to facilitate meetings to discuss topics and resolve issues. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and able to work effectively during high airport operations support incidents. Familiarity with the airport business processes-specifically baggage handling processes.
